My ego

I jokingly tell people that I keep a blog because of the ego boost. Then I started thinking about this blog, and felt a little weird about that.

Think about it for a second – blog about conquering the ego, kept as an ego boost. Doesn’t seem quite right, does it?

I will continue with the blog, because the other 50% of my reasoning is the community that this blog connects me to. However, I am attempting to curb my obsessive comments-checking. Once a day is really quite enough! Would I continue this if I wasn’t getting comments? Probably. But I do like learning from other people (and the smart part of me says this is a big reason for keeping a blog).

Geez. Little-s self, you’re getting in the way of big-s Self again.

[Also also I nearly posted another “backslide” post, because after filling out a survey I was given the choice of a gift card for me or donating the amount to Doctors Without Borders and guess what I chose? Yep, the gift card. I debated it for a long while, too, hence the guilty admission.]

About HappyGoth

By day, I'm a graphic designer. By night, I'm a knitter. I'm doing my part to keep Hotlanta stylish. I imagine that if you don't already understand the title of the blog, you're probably confused and perhaps slightly annoyed, but never fear - I do have a reason (and it's a good one). Having gone to hear Stephanie Pearl McPhee, and then having been inspired to blog about knitting, I found myself wondering what to call the blog. I recalled a conversation I had with Mouse and the Chicken Goddess about why it is a Bad Idea to anger knitters - this conversation was following SPM, aka the Yarn Harlot telling the assembled throng about Those Who Do Not Understand Knitting and Therefore Belittle It Much to the Chagrin of Others, or TWDNUKTBMCO, which is not the acronym she used but is the one I'm using because I forgot hers - that is, we are numerous and we all have very pointy sticks, easily transforming into an angry mob. Therefore, knitters = angry mob.
